Sales and Customer Experience Associate
Become a valuable asset to the productive L&G team creating simple, elegant contemporary design pieces and experiences. The Red Hook-based studio has a dynamic, rigorous, but playful approach to design. Applicants should have an interest in participating in the independent design scene. This position aims to inspire lasting relationships with clients through excellent customer service, while aiding the studio to grow its sales base. L&G sells to the design trade, end consumers, and a small network of retailers. This is not a design position, however you will work collaboratively with the team to apply design thinking to the overall customer experience.
Position will work directly with L&G founders to:
Provide first responses incoming sales and marketing inquiries.
Answer clients’ questions, assess their needs, and provide valuable input to help them make an informed purchase.
Convey L&G Studio’s philosophy and ethos to clients.
Provide L&G team with insights into clients’ needs and how to improve customer experiences.
Stay up to date on product features, projects, and procedures.
Supply samples and support materials to clients as needed.
Maintain and create tools for tracking sales numbers and contacts
Order processing - Invoicing of clients, payment processing, tracking.
Cross-sell products and services.
Track timely shipment of goods.
Limited shipping of in-house goods to clients.
Build on-going client relationships with clients.
Create support materials for custom project pitches.
Qualified applicants should have the following skills:
Ability to work independently and in a team
Constructive problem solving
Basic knowledge of interior design and construction principles.
Spreadsheets - ability to create, modify, format, and use formulas
Ability to create 3D and 2D models of products a plus (autoCAD and Solidworks proficiency a plus)
Must provide own working computer with applicable software
Position to report and work directly with two founders of L&G. This position may also include the management of assistants, contractors, and interns. Externally, you will be the public face of L&G’s customer service and your ability to build positive relationships with clients is critical.
Salary and details:
Hourly rate depending on experience and competencies. This position starts with an independent contractor arrangement. Transition to in-house employee and pay adjustments to follow those who are a good fit with the company. This position also has the potential to earn sales commissions once established.
