Pretty In BLANC: Part II

some more inspirations for more of an everyday-look of BLANC...

Some classy combo with white and off white from Sartorialist.

Simple but bold from Bu of Bu the right thing.

Crisp and fresh from Stand Up Comedy in Portland.

Flowy and light from Totokaelo.

I'd wear all of these not just for BLANC, but for, like, ever....

Been seeing some great inspirations for what to wear at BLANC preview party this FRIDAY where we're asking everyone to wear something white! I still got lots to do on the list to prep for the show....Obviously, I totally have my priority set here....

I especially love this whole collection by Rodarte for Opening Ceremony...totally BLANC.

Some great pieces for the boys, too!

Dream Closet

MUST check out this inspiring closet visit of Momoko Suzuki's space, wardrobe, and her stylish sensibility.
I first saw some pieces from her brand Black Crane at Mohawk General Store (my new fav shop in LA) and wished I had splurged on one of her beautiful Japanese dyed shirts. (below)...but mostly, I wish I can just have all her clothes..and everything she owns....

Margaret Howell S/S 2011 Collection

I Love this whole collection by Margaret Howell.

Even though its the Spring/Summer collection, most of the pieces can totally be worn all year round....or even year after year with such classic timeless look.

All her pieces are especially perfect for Seattle's spring/summer....
Ok...summer...any day now~

Fantastic Knits

've been MORE than obsessed with Annie Larson's knit brand, All Knitwear, for a long time now...and it's seriously amazing how she knits everything with a knitting machine. I totally get lost in time between looking at her blog with great photos of her space & process & her shop with all the fantastic wearables. Her sense of color & pattern and the way she puts it all together is simply beyond fantastic!
....and with Seattle's weather being so stupid cold & wet...I'm seriously considering getting these knitted sweater leggings! Just look how happy Annie is wearing that! I just love that photo. And of course THESE!: One of these adorable colorful hats wouldn't be too bad either....
It's all too good...

Cool Gang Of Wool

This isn't your typical old lady yarn store filed with the scent of potpourri..... these ladies from Wool and The Gang had created a shop in making a yarn store and the act of knitting totally cool again...hipster cool again that is....
They offer bunch of more than stylish pieces in DIY kits including yarn, kitting needles, instructions, and all the coolness you'll ever need. And especially seeing their clean & cool branding designed by Be-Poles...it's just so hard to resist!

This is a perfect project for the winter and reason to stay cozy at home, knit, and drink some (or a lot) spiced wine! But of course if you want more of an instant gratification, they also have already made pieces you can just purchase! What bunch of smarty-pants they are!

That's SO Fair!

Check out these beautiful textile designs and wearables by Bhalo with a powerful fair trade mission to facilitate women in rural Bangladesh.

"Bhalo is a fair trade design label that aims to create desirable fashion whilst empowering disadvantaged people, especially women, allowing them to work their way out of poverty.

Our cotton is hand loomed and hand embroidered by women in rural Bangladesh, not only giving them much needed employment and training, but providing them with simple things that we take for granted - education/childcare for their children, basic health care, and most of all, dignity. We oppose human exploitation and feel everyone should be given the right to fair employment terms, and given a decent price for their work. Wouldn't you expect the same?"

You can read all their fascinating process, here! I would love to go there in person one day and learn all about their process! One of my dream is to travel from place to place and learn the regional crafts whether it be weaving, carving, dyeing, or casting....It'd be like the show "How it's made" but specifically for arts & crafts from around the world....wait....I think I should totally pitch that idea to Discovery Channel!!

Walking on Sunshine

I'm obsessed with these shoes by Marais USA....
and these...
but honestly, I'd be happy with all this...
Founded by these two young 25 year old gals living in Brooklyn. Sort of makes me wonder what I did when I was 25. Even though it was only 3 years ago, but for some reason I don't even recall much...what did I do?....thinking...thinking....oh, yeah! I do remember that I didn't do any of this business making, New York living, and designing a whole line of awesome & versatile shoes. Now its all coming back...Yeah, being 25 was pretty awesome.

Now I just gotta get a pair (or several) of these to make myself feel better. I can't choose between these two styles...and the colors....all so nieeeece.....I want to wear them through the summer and beyond....

A little Skewed

This Humorous and mind blowing collection by conceptual Japanese fashion designer Kunihiko Morinaga (better known as ANREALAGE) – debuted his 2010-11 Autumn/Winter collection in Tokyo last month.
This brilliant collection, "WIDESHORTSLIMLONG" makes you think you're looking at some poorly photoshoped photos while in reality Morinaga had physically distorted every proportion and size by stretching and squishing every detail down to the actual pieces, the pattern, the maniquins, the labels, and even the hangers!" For this particular collection, which comprises everything from t-shirts and jeans to dresses and pants, the designer worked with 2 spokes; a wide-short spoke and a slim-long spoke. The wide-short distorts the average height of a Japanese person by 250% (width) and 70% (length), while the slim-long distorts by 80% (width) and 150% (length)."I was getting dizzy looking at all the photos....but still amazed by it all!

I especially love how each pieces translates on to a "normal" manikin where the two proportions creates such different look and feel! Doesn't the Burberry-style plaid jacket in wide & stout version look so fabulous & chic?!

Paper, Scissor, Rockin' Clothes

This is something I just stumbled upon..it's from 2009, but still pretty freakin' amazing!
This whole line designed by Alexandra Verschueren reminds me everything great and fun about elementary school. You know...doodling with color pencils and folding & cutting with paper using mix array of line papers...all the things I love to do at school!

Except all these pieces are simply stunning and are WAY more amazing than your typical school craft project covered in Elmer's glue..at least mine was like that!
I especially love seeing the stylized sketches and swatch boards... I'm obsessed with general office & school supplies...and I'm especially drawn to the graphic quality of grid & line paper of all sort. So I think it's freakin' brilliant that Verschueren has turned such ubiquitous graphic into high-end textile prints...and on top of that with all the added colorful hand drawn/hand painted texture!
....It's all just too cool for school.

Big Wig

I'd like to wear this and do my weekend produce shopping at the farmer's market with it...or just wear it everywhere.

Perhaps I'll finally get some respect around here...
These huge bonnets made of plaited hair are made for a workshop, called Crazy Hair; a fabulous collaboration with professional hairdressing academy Studio Marisol and Spanish designers of CuldeSac.

Talk about crazy amazing....
